Meet the Doctors Behind Our Cardiovascular Practice

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California Los Angeles County Hospital.

After practicing medicine as a hospitalist physician in Southern California for almost 3 years, he accepted a position as a hospitalist physician at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

He spent three years in academic medicine and then completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, followed by the completion of an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Prior to moving to St. Augustine, Dr. Lewis practiced Interventional Cardiology at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Virginia. In 2014, just before he joined the Baker & Gilmour Cardiovascular Institute, he was listed as one of the top doctors in the Washington, D.C. area by Washingtonian magazine.

Dr. Lewis is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology. He has a particular interest in radial angioplasty and is trained in coronary and peripheral stenting. He is trained to perform valvuloplasty and PFO closures.

Additional skills include cardiac echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, the management of pulmonary artery hypertension, exercise, and pharmacologic stress testing with both echocardiographic and nuclear cardiac imaging. Dr. Lewis speaks medical Spanish.

Dr. Lewis also enjoys reading, playing golf, playing classical piano, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
